Elza Bowsher



SPENCERVILLE — Elza Bowsher, 88, of Rt. 2, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in the Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys, where he had been a patient 16 days.

Born Sept. 10, 1888 in Lima, he was a son of Henry and Jennie Mills Bowsher. He married Mabel Fissel on Sept. 19, 1917, and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Layton of Rt. 2; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Olive Chapel United Methodist Church, Converse, a U.S. Army veteran of World War I, a member of 6772 Veterans of Froeign Wars and Disabled American Veterans Post at Wapakoneta. He was a retired farmer.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Rev. Thomas E. Brown and Rev. K. Roy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the VFW.

Friends may call after 7 tonight at the funeral home.
