Larry Badertscher
Larry Badertscher, 68, died at 2:57 a.m. Nov. 21, 2008, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
He was born Aug. 10, 1940, in Bluffton to Menno and Geneva Patterson Badertscher, who preceded him in death. On June 27, 1964, he married Ellen Hitchcock, who died Oct. 30, 2003.
Mr. Badertscher retired from the Village of Bluffton. He had also worked at Garwood Industries, Findlay, farmed, and worked at A-Z Meats, Bluffton. He had helped with the Bluffton Blaze of Lights for several years until his health failed, and was its parade marshal in 2006.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Jim) Faurot, of Bluffton; a sister, Colletta Mullenhour, of Bluffton; two brothers, Daryl (Joan) Badertscher, of Dover, and Donald Badertscher, of Findlay; a sister-in-law, Darlene Combs, of Lapine, Ala.; two brothers-in-law, Bob Hitchcock, of Tiffin, and Ned Benham, of Ada; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
