Joseph H. Cleaves



Joseph H. Cleaves, 44, of Cairo died at 3:30 a.m. Monday in St. Rita's Medical Center hwere he had been a patient for three months.

He was born August 10, 1934, in Lima, the son of Victor F. and Viola Marie Rese Cleaves. He married the former Mary Jane Haines who survives.

Mr. Cleaves was an employee of United Telephone Co. He was a member of Calvary Community Temple and a former member of Bath and Cairo Fire Departments. He was a 1952 graduate of Lafayette-Jackson High School and Knotts school of Auctioneering.

Survivors also include one son, Steven J. Cleaves at home; one daughter, Judy Lynn Cleaves at home; and one brother, Victor Cleaves of Lima.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chiles and Sons-Laman West Wayne Street Chapel, Rev. Melvin Stauffer officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
