James R. Crist
James R. Crist, 80, of 329 N. Elizabeth, died at 5 a.m. today in St. Rita's Hospital after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 17, 1888, in Auglaize County, he was a son of Henry F. and Mary Edman Crist. He married Opal Crist in 1935 and she survives. His first wife, Cornelis Hass, died in 1922.
The retiree of Lima Locomotive Works was a member of Eagles Lodge, past governor and life member of the Moose Lodge, and a member of the 25-year club of Baldwin Lima Hamilton Corp.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mark (Marguerite) Shenk of Rt. 4, Cridersville, Mrs. Phillip (Florence) Albright of Broderick, Calif., and Mrs. Helen Cotner of 2848 Spencerville Rd.; two sons, Carl of 37 Sherwood Ct. and James of Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Sheffer of Buckland; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Siferd Westwood Chapel, Rev. Clyde Miller officiating, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.
