Gregory E. Egbert
McCARTYVILLE — A 47-year-old Allen County man is being held in the Shelby County Jail on charges filed by highway patrolmen in connection with a Wednesday afternoon accident near here which resulted in the death of an 11-year-old boy.
Gregory e. Egbert of Rt. 2, Minster, was killed when he was struck about 2:30 p.m. while walking along Rt. 119, one and one-half miles west of here, according to the Piqua post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident is Hal W. Robinson of 2650 Allentown Rd., Lima, patromen [sic] said. Officers said Robinson's vehicle was found following the accident, ina ditch about one mile from the accident scene.
Investigation of the child's death was being continued today, patrolmen said.
