Leroy "Punch" Gesler
Leroy ( Punch) Gesler, 78, Lima, died 10: 40 p.m. Nov. 10, 1998 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 1, 1920, in Duchouquet Township Auglaize County, to Rondell R. and Mary Marie Talmage Gesler. On May 29, 1941, he married V. Virginia Shepherd, who died June 4, 1990.
Mr. Gesler was a self-employed carpenter. He was a decorated Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Dennis LeRoy (Betty) Gesler of Lima; three daughters, Nancy (Tom) Bowerman, of Lima, Melinda Barhorst, of Botkins, and Michael Ann (David) Hoffer of Angola, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; John, Robert, and Rondell Gesler, Jr.; and a sister, Glytanna Fisher.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Lewis Chapel of Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes. The Rev. Dottie Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in Bluelick Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
