Bernice S. Maurer



Bernice S. Maurer, 93 of Lima, and formerly of Eastshore Drive in Findlay, died early Friday morning, Oct. 30, 1998 at Argonne Residence Inn, Lima.

She was born Oct. 1, 1905 in Fort Recovery, to Anthony and Odelia (King) Bruns. She married Erwin Charles Maurer on Dec. 30, 1924, and he died Feb. 29, 1992.

Surviving are two sons, Erwin C. Jr. of Plano, Texas; Eugene T. of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother Albert Bruns, Lima.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert B.; a daughter Sharon Ann Maurer; a grandchild; three brothers, Walter, Leroy, and Raymond Bruns; and two sisters, Pauling Doling, Elvira Bruns.

Mrs. Maurer was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Findlay, and attended St. Gerard's Catholic Church, Lima.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, downtown, the Rev. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Shawnee Township, Allen county. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Monday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 8:30pm

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert B. Maurer; a daughter, Sharon Ann Maurer; three brothers, Walter, Leroy, and Raymond Bruns; two sisters, Pauline Doling and Evira Bruns; and a grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10am Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church. The Rev. Randy Giesige will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Monday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay, where a rosary service wil be held Monday evening.
