Erwin C. Maurer, Sr.
Findlay - Erwin C. Maurer Sr., 86, of here, formerly of Lima, died at 12:50 pm Saturday at Fox Run Manor Nursing Home in Findlay.
Mr. Maurer was born May 30, 1905, in Findlay, the son of Samuel and Lynda Lubach Maurer. On Dec. 30, 1924, he married Bernice Bruns, who survives.
Mr. Maurer was a retired engineer for the Baltimore and Ohio and the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroads. He was a member of the Locomotive Engineers Association, Lima Eagles and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Findlay. He was an avid bowler.
Survivors include three sons, Erwin C. Maurer Jr. of Dallas, Robert B. Maurer of Miami Lakes, Fla., and Eugene T. Maurer of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Erma Stevens of Ocala, Fla.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9am Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church East, Findlay, Rev. Martin Nassr officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay, where a vigil service is planned for 7:30 pm Monday.
