John Daniel Musser



John Daniel Musser, 92, died at 9:55 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008, in his home.

He was born April 24, 1916, in Lafayette to Benjamin David William and Mary Irene Norton Musser. On Nov. 9, 1938, he married Alice B. Chambers, who survives.

Mr. Musser was a retired mechanic for Lima Mack Sales. He was a volunteer on the Uniopolis Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

Survivors also include a son, Larry Lee (Bea) Musser, of Lima; three daughters, Sharon Ann Sykes, Doris Jean (Ted) Davis, and Mary Alice (Ted) Smith, all of Lima; and nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, David William, Benjamin, and Evan Musser; and three sisters, Ruth Starr, Myrtle Williams and Catherine Bassitt.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. William Turner and the Rev. Robert Pophal will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Open Door Baptist Church or St. Rita's Medical Center Hospice Program.
