Marie Mason
HARROD — Marie Mason, 97, died at 8:05 a.m. April 18, 2006, at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima.
She was born April 4, 1909, in Auglaize Township to George and Carrie Hefner Wilkins, who preceded her in death. On March 18, 1930, she married Lawrence Mason, who died March 24, 1975.
Mrs. Mason was a homemaker. She was a member of Auglaize Bible Church. She was a 4-H adviser for several years, and she was a member of Happy Hour Garden Club. She was a 1928 graduate of Harrod High School.
Survivors include three sons, Gene (Cathy) Mason of Cridersville, Raymond (Jean) Mason of Harrod and David (Betsy) Mason of Harrod; two daughters, Marilyn Goldsmith of Harrod and Betty Hutchison of Summerville, S.C.; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Karl Neil Mason and Marion Mason; a son-in-law, Jack Goldsmith; two brothers, Ira and Dale Wilkins; a sister, Lillie Smith; two grandchildren, Thomas and Brandy Goldsmith; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes Lewis Chapel. The Rev. Roger Emerson will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
