C. Edward Pester



WAPAKONETA — C. Edward Pester, 81, formerly of this city, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday in the Auglaize County Home following an extended illness.

He was born April 20, 1888 in Auglaize County, the son of Jacob and Mary Bahr Pester. On Dec. 24, 1918 he was married to Iva Rhoades. She died Jan. 4, 1969.

Surviving are three dauhgters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Lightle and Mrs. Eldon (Stella) Johns, both of this city, and Mrs. James (Clara) Osborn of Cleveland) two sons, Charles of Continental and John C. of Rt. 2; 27 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Kate) Whiteman of Wapakoneta and Mrs. S. A. (Emma) Rupert of Lima; two brothers, Wilbert of Rt. 6 and Cleveland of Hume.

Mr. Pester was a retired farmer and attended First Church of the Nazarene.

Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday in the church, Rev. Bernard Miller officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Siferd Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.
