Miss Nettie M. Snook, veteran school teacher, and mentor of many prominent Lima business men died suddenly at 4:45 a. m. Saturday at the residence, 541 W. North-st, after a heart attack.

Miss Snook was one of Lima’s best known women. She had taught in Central High school since 1884, and a large majority of Lima business men started their carears after completing bookkeeping and other business courses under her instruction. She also taught German until the language was discontinued in Lima schools at the time of America’s entrance in the World war.

She conducted classes as usual Friday. Early Saturday morning a grandchild of Mrs. A. S. Creps, 541 W. North-st, heard Miss Snook call, and aroused the family. Miss Snook died in a few minutes.

She taught primary classes in Lima in 1883, and the next year took up her work in Central high school, teaching German. In 1895 bookkeeping was added to her schedule, and the German classes were discontinued in 1918.

Central high school will be dismissed for funeral services at 2 p. m., Tuesday, at a place to be decided. The Rev. T. W. Hoernemann, pastor of First Reformed church, of which whe was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
