Samuel Thomas
Cridersville, Aug. 23—Samuel Thomas, 80 a native of Allen-co and a resident of Spencerville for 26 years prior to moving to the home of his son, Rube Thomas, here, 11 months ago died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday following a short illness. He was a member of the Christ Methodist church, four miles east of Spencerville.
Besides Rube he is survived by two other sons, Charles, Lima; and Roy, near Conant; two daughters, Mrs. Ira McCray, Lima Route 4; Mrs. Susie Meeker, Conant; two brothers, Andy Thomas, Lima Route 1; Lige, Buckland; 34 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1p.m. Sunday at the Christ Methodist church with Rev. I.F. Andrews, Spencerville, assisted by Rev. James Steinhelfer, Cridersville, officiating. Burial will be in the Amanda Baptist cemetery near the church.
The body will be removed from the Umbaugh and Bayliff funeral home Cridersville, to the home of his son, Rube, Friday evening.
